Best Icarus-556 Loadout in Modern Warfare 2 – Attachments and Tuning for Multiplayer

The Icarus-556 is the LMG that plays most like an Assault Rifle, with the added bonus of having an enormous 75-round magazine. This makes it very dominant in Multiplayer, as most of the gunplay is at close to mid range.

For this guide we’ve organized the most optimal build for the Icarus-556, featuring the best attachments and tuning for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) Multiplayer.

The rest of the class setup is user preference, but we’d definitely recommend using the Fast Hands perk due to the near 7 second reload time. If you tend to burn through bullets or find yourself unkillable, run the Munitions Box Field Upgrade to replenish your ammo when needed.

Below are the optimal attachments for the Icarus-556.

Best Icarus-556 Attachments and Tuning:

The attachments we’ve put on the Icarus include:

  • Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
  • Underbarrel: Lockgrip Precision-40
  • Barrel: FTAC SB
  • Muzzle: Komodo Heavy

As the Icarus-556 is on the M4 platform, multiple of the attachments used in our M4 guide are also used here, including the underbarrel, rear grip, and muzzle.

The Lockgrip and Komodo work identically in this build, aiming to mitigate as much horizontal recoil as possible, to make long spray firing as accurate as possible.

The XTEN Grip, FSS OLE-V Laser, and FTAC SB work to mitigate the reduced ADS speed from the other two attachments, each increasing Aim Down Sight Speed significantly.

The final build of the Icarus-556 has greatly increased ADS speed and Recoil Control, but has slightly reduced Damage Range and Bullet Velocity. This shouldn’t impact the gun too much as the build is intended for multiplayer, which is primarily close to mid range fighting.

The tuning for these attachments is provided below (Note that Lasers can’t be tuned).
